From Idea to the Final Design

So I decided to try something new and instead of just posting regular stuff like studies/ sketches/ concepts and so on I will make this post showing my full process of creating a character concept. This process applies regardless if the concept is a character, weapon, vehicle or environment... its still the same.

I started simply with some PENCIL SKETCHES (very rough & very ugly) just to nail down the idea inside my head. Initially I was thinking to design a human with different body parts replaced by robot limbs and so on...

After that, I did a little research on the internet to find good REFERENCES which will help me create my own stuff :) References are gathered from pinterest mostly, humans of New York and google so I apologize not crediting the artists.

After the references I did some THUMBNAILS to generate more ideas and try different design languages.

After that I tough I finally came up with a design I liked so I made the LINEARTS.

After reaching this point... I realised the design is not going necessarily into the direction I wanted and also it didnt have the impact I was hoping so I decided to start all over again by making sketches. (a pretty common thing).

This is the concept I decided I like and wanted to push forward so I took my time and spend some hours cleaning the lines and coming up with some color variations.

Rendered final image... not very proud of it...i personally feel that its too stiff...and it doesnt fee natural..also i found out it has some other issues which would require a remake to fix them...so i gotta move forward..
